“In the summer of 2006 I traveled to Arusha, Tanzania with a group of people from Canada and the United States. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this trip, but it turned out to be much more than I had ever imagined – a life changing experience. I went, armed with school supplies and stuffed animals to distribute to the children I would meet, but what I received in return was immeasurable. I fell in love with the people of Tanzania. I knew I wanted to help them and inspire others to do the same. While in Tanzania, I met Fr. Festus Mangwangi, a newly ordained priest, and one of our hosts. When I returned home, I was able to able to keep in touch with Fr. Festus, and we worked together to fundraise and distribute the proceeds to those in need. To date we have raised over $30 000 dollars and it has changed many lives. One hundred percent of the funds raised through this project go to the people of Tanzania. There are no overhead costs.” Sharon Cornett-Ching
