This year, on Thursday, May 5, 2016, Project Tanzania, the registered Canadian charity that funds children’s education initiatives and provides supports to an orphanage in and around Arusha, Tanzania, will be holding its sixth annual spring fundraiser.

This year’s event will be held at the Barcelona Tavern at 501, 8th Ave SW. The tickets for this years event are $100.00, a reduction of $25.00 from previous years. As in the past, food and drinks are included with each ticket as well the opportunity to purchase many unique trips and gifts. The attached brochure provides all the necessary details for this wonderful evening.

The economic climate in Calgary and Alberta has been very challenging since our last fundraiser in May of 2015. Most of you know people who have been directly affected by this downturn. In light of these circumstances,  the Board for Project Tanzania gave serious consideration to cancelling the event until our sponsors commented “…The children still need to go to school…” and they are right. Ask yourself…Have our children in Calgary stopped going to school this year? Our sponsors have confirmed their continued support for our education initiatives and we are asking that you continue to help us help our children in Tanzania!

In the near future, a representative from Project Tanzania will be contacting you to discuss our charity and to answer any questions you may have about the charity or the event.

For more information about Project Tanzania and its programs or to purchases tickets online, we invite you to go to our website at

We hope to see you on May 5!
